Nottingham Forest have reportedly made Wolves striker Matheus Cunha their top priority for the January transfer window as they aim to strengthen their squad and push into the top four.
The City Ground club are eager to sign a new striker before the end of the transfer windowwith the Daily Mail revealing that Cunha had been identified as their primary target. However, the 25-year-old Brazilian international did he attracted the interest of several Premier League giants.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are among the clubs linked with the striker. But despite strong competition, Forest remain determined to follow Cunha, who has scored 10 goals this season.
In their pursuit of a striker, Forest recently made a £22m bid for Brentford’s Yoane Wiss, which was rejected. Now their attention is firmly focused on Cunha, despite the challenges posed by competing against England’s top clubs for his signature.

Arsenal have spoken to representatives of Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Matheus Cunha over a possible move to the Emirates Stadium.
It’s no secret that the Gunners need a striker in order to try to take the lead from Premier League leader Liverpool.
FootballTransfers reported that Cunha is a January option that is being seriously considered. The outlet states that the Brazilian’s current contract conflicts with his current squad and this has prompted Arsenal to rekindle their interest.
On Monday, Cunha was criticized by Wolves head coach Vitor Pereira for “poor body language” in the 3-1 defeat by Chelsea. “It’s human for players to start being a little bit… that’s normal in football.”
“I had this conversation in the locker room. He can be frustrated because he wants to win, but everyone on the team wants to win.
“I don’t like this body language. I want someone as a captain who tries to help the team – run, suffer, fight together. That’s something I can understand. Next time I won’t understand. This is something that cannot be repeated.”
