The International Cricket Council (ICC) has introduced the latest update for One Day International (ODI) player rankings for women cricketers, reflecting recent performances in bilateral series and global tournaments. These rankings highlight positional changes among batsmen, bowlers and all-rounders, showcasing standout players who have made significant contributions to their teams.
Smriti Mandhan of India made a significant leap, securing the second spot in the batsmen’s rankings. Her performances in the recent series against Ireland were nothing short of spectacular, where she smashed a brilliant century, showing her class and consistency. The first place, however, still holds Laura Wolvaardt from South Africa, who has been a consistent scorer, notably with his career-best 184* against Sri Lanka in April.
In the bowling department, Sophie Ecclestone England continue their reign at the top, with an impressive points lead over their counterparts. Her ability to control the game with left-arm spin was key for England. Not far behind, Ashleigh Gardner from Australia has made significant strides, showing her dual threat with both bat and ball.
The all-purpose player category saw a change with the passing of Gardner Marizanne Kapp for the number one spot, thanks to her recent performances at the Women’s Ashes 2025 where she excelled in both departments. Gardner’s ability to influence the game with his bowling and then contribute significantly with the bat was outstanding.
