“I will never decide to leave this club,” says Ancelotti

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti says he will “never decide when I will leave this club” following the latest speculation that he will leave at the end of the season.

Ancelotti, 65, won two La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies with Real in two spells with the Spanish giants and is under contract until 2026.

It has been reported in Spain this week that he will leave this summer with former Real midfielder Xabi Alonso replacing him.

But speaking ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash with RB Salzburg, Ancelotti said: β€œI I want to be very clear: I will never decide when to leave this club, never in my life.

“One day that moment will come, but I don’t know when. I don’t decide. It could be tomorrowin a few games, a year, five years…

“(President) Florentino Perez will stay here for another four years and my goal is to reach Florentino’s four years. And so we can say goodbye together.

“I feel very loved in all aspects: the fans, the club, the media level. All.”

Holders Real have struggled in the new Champions League format and find themselves in 20th place with two games remaining. Only the top eight qualify directly, meaning Real are likely to face a two-legged play-off next month.

“There are not many options, but the only one is to win the two remaining games,” added Ancelotti.

“If we have to play in the round of 16, we will do it 100%. Given that the schedule will be even more demanding, but we are used to it.”
