Social network X is trying to profit from the removal ByteDance apps like TikTok and Lemon8 from US stores by introducing a dedicated vertical video.
The company is adding a video tab in the bottom bar of the app for US users to allow them to access videos on the platform.
“The new immersive home theater is available to users in the US today,” the company said Sunday post.
X existing users can stream short videos by tapping on a video in the timeline and scrolling up. This new video site is a dedicated section of these videos. In addition, this is not the first time that the company has tried to create a new video home.
Previous program engineer had previously seen a video tab, but this is the first time X has announced it.
Social media has recently become increasingly focused on video content. Last year, it started exclusive TV show showing videos from different organizations and producers.
With TikTok facing problems in the US, the social network is trying to take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding ByteDance’s software in the US Meta has been announced. a video editing program called Edits to compete with ByteDance’s CapCut, where X Rival Bluesky has launched custom vertical video feed.
