According to the Spanish edition SPORTBarcelona have agreed personal terms with Man United striker Marcus Rashford over a loan deal.
27-year-old striker was heavily linked with a move to the Catalan giants during January, and this contract represents a potential new beginning for the England international.
Marcus Rashford’s situation at Man United
Rashford’s potential departure comes after a turbulent period under United manager Ruben Amorim. The forward was notably left out of the squad for the Manchester derby, a decision which also dropped Alejandro Garnacho. Amorim clarified that the decision was not disciplinary, instead emphasizing the focus on training performance, professionalism and team dynamics.
However, Rashford has not played for the Red Devils since that miss, prompting speculation that his time at Old Trafford under Amorim is effectively over, with player even willing to take a pay cut to leave this month.
Despite being a central figure for United since his debut under Louis van Gaal in 2016, Rashford’s form has been inconsistent in recent seasons, with flashes of brilliance overshadowed by periods of struggle.
While the agreement between the clubs was reached, reports SPORT that Barcelona still have to clear wages to cover Rashford’s salary. His annual salary is reportedly 18 million euros gross, of which Barcelona should cover approximately 9 million euros for the rest of the season.
The report adds that Rashford is keen to make the switch and is willing to wait until the final days of the transfer window for Barcelona to resolve their financial constraints. With the transfer window extended until February 3 in Spain, the Catalans have little time to finalize the operation.
The talks could include discussions of a reduced wage burden, with Manchester United potentially sharing a portion of Rashford’s wages to facilitate the move.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2016, Rashford has been a key figure for Manchester United, known for his speed, skill and ability to deliver at key moments. He made more than 400 appearances for the club scored 138 goals and recorded 63 assistscreating countless memorable moments for fans.
