Trump’s first trip as president will be to Los Angeles: Sources

President-elect Trump’s first official trip of his second administration will be to visit the Los Angeles area devastated by forest firestwo sources confirmed to NewsNation.

Trump’s trip is scheduled for late next week, the sources said. The visit comes later deadly fires burned hundreds of thousands of acres of Southern California and killed at least 27 people.

The president-elect criticized the California Democratic leadershipincluding Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, in the days following the genesis of the fires.

“One of the best and most beautiful parts of the United States of America is burning to the ground,” Trump said published at Truth Social on January 8. “It’s ashes, and Gavin Newscum should resign. This is all his fault!!!”

That same day, he said Newsom should signed a statement pumping additional water in California, despite local regulations limiting the amount of water which can be pumped from the nearby Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

“Now the ultimate price is being paid. I will demand that this incompetent governor allows beautiful, clean, fresh water to flow to CALIFORNIA! He is to blame for this,” Trump posted online. “Furthermore, there is no water for fire hydrants, and no fire-fighting aircraft. A real disaster!”

The 47th president will be sworn in Monday indoors in the Capitol rotunda, a change from the usual location on the west facade of the Capitol due to the harsh temperatures.

Newsom joined GOP governors raising the flag at full height for Trump’s inauguration, The Associated Press reported.
