There is not much time left in the winter transfer window for Graham Potter and the West Ham board to do any transfer business, but one deal that has been struck concerns the left winger with 99 goals or assists.
Ansu Fati from Barcelona is ready to move to West Hamand Ben Chilwell could join the Irons before the deadline to reunite with his former Chelsea manager.
However, one player who will not be wearing the red and blue until the end of the 2024/25 season is Maxwel Cornet.
According to a reliable journalist, Fabrizio Romano, the Hammers have agreed with Genoa for the Serie A side to take the Ivorian on loan.

Although he appears to have an impressive 99 G/A contributions in his 350-game career to date (transfer market), managed just one Premier League goal and six assists in all competitions in his 38 appearances for the Hammers.
Genoa manager Patrick Vieira clearly sees something on the left wing that he can work with, and if Cornet does well, it’s entirely possible that something more permanent could emerge.
Pundit accused West Ham star of unacceptable behavior!
What the move does is keep the player off the Hammers payroll and out of a first-team squad where he has no realistic chance of breaking into.
Loaned out to the Premier League’s last club, Southampton, at the start of the current campaign, he failed to make an impression even there.
Transfermarkt states that he made only four appearances, totaling a paltry 187 minutes.
It is clear that the player will be grateful for the new opportunity, while West Ham need not worry about what happens next – Cornet is under contract with them until 2027 – for the next six months.
