Liverpool look for their first Premier League win in 2025 when they visit Brentford on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds have drawn with Manchester United and Nottingham Forest in their last two Premier League matches, with Arsenal cutting their lead at the top to just four points – although the Reds have a game in hand against their London foes. Another setback at the Gtech Community Stadium would put Arne Slot’s side under huge pressure from their title rivals.
Brentford made their home pitch a fortress at the start of the season, but their unbeaten run in west London has been shattered in recent weeks. They are now without a win in four home games, including a shock FA Cup third-round exit against Plymouth Argyle. They ensured a a dramatic late comeback against Manchester City one last time, though.
Here 90 minutes a guide to Brentford in relation to Liverpool.

Brentford struggled with injuries this season they were without some influential players. Starting center back Ethan Pinnock was sidelined with a hamstring problem and joined fellow defenders Aaron Hickey and Kristoffer Ajer in the treatment room. Sepp van den Berg will line up in the heart of the defense against his former employers.
Joshua Dasilva and Gustavo Nunes are long-term absentees, while summer signing Igor Thiago is suffering from an infection following a knee injury. The expensive Brazilian has featured in just four Premier League games this term.
Brentford predicted the line-up against Liverpool (4-3-3): Stain; Roerslev, Collins, Van den Berg, Henry; Janelt, Norgaard, Jensen; Mbeumo, Wissa, Schade.
Liverpool have been relatively injury-free during Slott’s debut season, with the Dutch manager only missing versatile defender Joe Gomez for Saturday’s trip to the capital. He is likely to return in February after a hamstring problem.
Diogo Jota’s current performance from the bench in midweek theoretically it would earn him a start on Saturday, but there is an injury doubt for the powerful forward. Darwin Nunez, however, served his one-game suspension. Dominik Szoboszlai returned to the Premier League on Tuesday after a combination of suspension and illness at the City Ground.
Predicted line-up of Liverpool against Brentford (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz.
It could be chaos at Gtech on Saturday. Liverpool are the division’s top scorers but have struggled to keep clean sheets in recent weeks, while Brentford have scored more goals at home than any team in Premier League but they endured similar defensive struggles. The Bees have conceded 37 times in 21 games this season.
Liverpool’s wobble could come to an end in the capital, but it is unlikely to be convincing against a Brentford side who are rarely beaten without a fight. They will be hoping to land a few blows against the Reds, who will need to be alert and persistent on Saturday afternoon.
