Among those in attendance was the president-elect’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., who is a close friend and political ally of Vance’s and who last summer pushed hard for the elder Trump to nominate Vance, then the junior senator from Ohio, as his running mate on the 2024 national Republican Party ticket.

The money dragged to fundraisinglikely to reach the early seven figures, will go to MAGA Inc., the super PAC that supported Trump during his two-year campaign to retake the White House in 2024.
With Trump term-limited and barred from running for re-election in 2028, Vance is seen as the heir apparent to the president-elect’s America First movement and MAGA world of devoted followers. He is likely to be considered the front-runner when the next race for the GOP presidential nomination formally begins after the 2026 midterm elections.
