Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney will meet for a rematch this October, and the trilogy will be in February 2026. Both fights will be in Saudi Arabia.
No word yet on whether the trilogy calls for Haney to win the rematch in October, but that would seem like the logical conclusion. Since Turki Al-Sheikh is financing the events, it may not matter if Haney loses the rematch. All this has yet to be confirmed by Turki.
Money is no object. American promoters wouldn’t set up a trilogy under those circumstances, obviously, because fans wouldn’t be interested in seeing a third fight after Haney gets beaten up again.
Haney & Garcia Share Card
To get fans excited about the rematch, the plan is for Haney (31-0, 15 KO) and Ryan to square off on the same card in May. They will then meet for a rematch in October. Sharing the same card in May will be interesting.
Haney’s potential opponent is a former WBC and WBO welterweight champion Jose Ramirezcoming off a 10-round unanimous decision against Arnold Barboza Jr. November 16. Ramirez would be a risky fight for Haney as he is a pressure fighter with power and excellent technical skills.
If Devin & Ryan fight someone too good, they might lose. We don’t know how Haney’s chin will hold up after being hurt multiple times in the loss to Ryan last April. He hasn’t fought since then, and it’s entirely possible that his impact resistance has weakened. If so, it’s possible that Haney will be knocked out in May and mess up his rematch with Ryan in October.
“Haney has verbally agreed to steps that will lead to a planned rematch in October and even a trilogy fight next February, both in Saudi Arabia,” Lance Pugmire said on Boxingscene. “Garcia and Haney are also scheduled to fight in separate bouts on the same card in early May.”
The money Ryan and Haney will make from these three fights will likely be huge and possibly the biggest paydays of their short careers.
Ryan (24-1, 20 KOs) defeated Haney via a 12-round majority decision last April 20 in Brooklyn, New York. The win was later vacated and changed to a no-contest after Ryan tested positive for the banned PED Ostarine.
