Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket has successfully launched its first flight, just days after its January 13 launch. wipe. In particular, it took SpaceX three years of trying to land before it failed the first stage of the Falcon 9 on a ship at sea.
New Glenn is a heavy-lift vehicle with a booster designed to be reused at least 25 times. Blue Origin describes it as “its largest, reusable rocket for mass production.” It has a large payload and can carry more than 13 metric tons to geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) and 45 metric tons to low Earth orbit (LEO). On its first mission, the vehicle carried the company’s Blue Ring Pathfinder, which is part of its Blue Ring platform that will provide aerial support to customers like the Pentagon. The project aims to test the Blue Ring’s intermediate journeys and ground systems, as well as their performance.
