Mike Johnson replaces the powerful Chairman of the Intelligence Committee

Speaker Mike Johnson will replace Rep. Mike Turner as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee after a debacle that began with a warning about Russian space nuclear technology last year, he confirmed to Fox News Digital a source knowledgeable about the decision.

Johnson was unhappy with Turner after apparently he issued an unexpected warning on the need to declassify information on Russian anti-satellite technology.

A hawk by nature, Turner has at times clashed with the Trumpist wing of his Republican Party on issues such as his support for aid to Ukraine and Section 702 of FISA.
