They are fighting words.
The Supervisory Committee of the Chamber descended into chaos Tuesday after Rep. Nancy Mace, RS.C., challenged Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, to a fight.
“If you want to take him out, we can do that,” Mace said.
The fight was sparked when Crockett said “boy listen” during a back and forth on civil rights, women’s rights and transgender rights.

“Someone’s campaign coffers are struggling right now. So she’s going to keep saying ‘trans, trans trans’ so people feel threatened and listen,” Crockett said.
Mace snapped in anger.
“I’m not a boy! Don’t call me a boy! I’m no boy. Don’t even start,” Mace said, interrupting Crockett. “I’m a grown woman. I’m 47 years old. I’ve broken more glass ceilings than you ever will. . . You won’t. I’m not a child. . . If you want to take it out, we can do it. That.”
The two talked to each other like House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer R-Ky., tried to control the chaos as he swung his gavel.

Crockett later attacked Republicans, accusing them of going after “the most vulnerable in our country.”
She said: “Trans people aren’t going anywhere. Just like when racists wanted to make sure black people were somehow going to be fired in this country. We’re not going away either.”
Mace later led to X to continue his war of words with Crockett.

“I’m no kid. And if I wanted a physical fight, you’d know it. This is not it,” he wrote. “I will not be harassed by someone who wants to take away women’s rights while lecturing on civil rights. I will not be harassed by someone who thinks being afraid of rape is a ‘fantasy’. This is not political, this is personal.”
Mace also tried to clarify his comments in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“There has been a lot of speculation about my intentions during a heated exchange about women’s rights today at Oversight,” she said in the statement. “Let me be clear: I wanted to get the conversation out of the way to have a more constructive conversation, not to fight. At no point was there any intent to hurt anyone. I was just assaulted by a pro tr*ns. A few weeks ago and I’m still in physical therapy for my injuries, I know firsthand how the left is capable of doing real physical harm to me, I won’t be called names by my colleagues like I was today, I won’t be looked down upon nor disabled, especially as a rape survivor, I will always stand up for women and reject left-wing extremism that seeks to silence our voices and dismiss our rights.”

Crockett also turned to X to address the exchange, writing, in part: “Today I have introduced an amendment to reinstate the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Oversight. My fellow Republican he threatened to physically fight me for it. Bless his heart.”
Crockett’s office also responded to Mace, stating that it was clear Mace threatened physical violence against Crockett.
“It was clear that Rep. Mace was threatening physical violence against Congresswoman Crockett as part of his performative and ridiculous meltdown,” Crockett’s office said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “Her libel rule exemplifies exactly why the House Oversight Committee must pass Congresswoman Crockett’s amendment to reinstate the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. Congresswoman Crockett ignored her obvious and desperate baiting , if Rep. Mace wants to raise money off the back of a qualified black woman, he can try another one.”

The brouhaha between Mace and Crockett happened the same day the House passed a bill banning it transgender athletes to participate in women’s sports in schools receiving federal funding.
Two House Democrats voted along with Republicans to pass the Women and Girls in Sports Protection Act. Reps. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, and Vicente Gonzales, D-Texas, were the lone Democrats to vote for the bill as it passed 218 to 206. Rep. Don Davis, D-N.C., voted “present” .
