Google raises the price of Workspace plans, including its AI features for free

Google he announced On Wednesday, all AI features in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Meet are now available to Workspace customers at no additional cost, although the system will see an increase of $2 per month per user.

This update enables access to Workplace AI tools, including email summarization, automated recording, chat with the Gemini bot, and more. Previously, customers who wanted to use all AI tools needed to pay an additional $20 per user per month for the Gemini Workplace plan on top of $12 for the Workspace Business Standard plan. Now, the standard plan is $14 per user per month.

The new prices will be effective for new customers immediately, and existing customers will see the changes starting March 17, 2025. Small customers are allowed to change the prices at this time.

Customers who have already purchased the Gemini for Workspace add-on will continue to have access to those features but will not be charged for subscriptions after January 31st.

The latest change is part of a competitive battle with Microsoft and other companies moving to incorporate AI capabilities into their offerings. In November, Microsoft added its Copilot Pro AI feature with a Microsoft 365 subscription.
