The election of President-elect Donald Trump To lead the Defense Department, Pete Hegseth, faced a backlash in the Senate on Tuesday as lawmakers determine whether to vote in support of the nominee.

Hegseth faced intense questioning from Democrats at his Armed Services Committee hearing, including his earlier comments related to women serving in military combat roles, and was also interrupted by protesters who disrupted the hearing in some moments

Trump nominated Hegseth in November, just days after his decisive election victory over Vice President Harris, praising him “as a warrior for the troops and the country.”Read more
