Dozens of American college students visited Israel and the United Arab Emirates over winter break, where they witnessed firsthand the achievements of the historic Abraham Accords amid current tensions on campus back home as the war in Israel continues.
Forty-three undergraduate students from across the country participated in a 10-day trip to Israel and the United Arab Emirates during the winter semester break through the Israel on Campus Coalition’s Geller International Scholarship, it was learned Fox News Digital. Students met with business leaders, academics, and political leaders to discuss and experience Middle Eastern culture, as well as see firsthand the importance of the Abraham Accords, which were negotiated under the first administration of the president-elect Trump in 2020.
“Experiencing first-hand the successes of the Abraham Accords with a group of college students passionate about peace and coexistence, at a time when dialogue on American college campuses like mine is scarce, has been a poignant reminder and critical of what the future of the Middle East can hold,” Eden Yadegar, a senior at Columbia University who studies the Middle East, said in a comment to Fox News Digital.

The Abraham Accords are a historic peace agreement negotiated by the US in 2020 between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. As part of the agreements, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain recognized Israel’s sovereignty and established full diplomatic relations. It was the first time Israel made peace with an Arab country since the 1994 Israel-Jordan peace treaty.

Aidan Bloomstine, a senior at the University of Southern California studying public policy, told Fox Digital that the trip was “the opportunity of a lifetime” that rekindled his optimism “that one day this region will live in peace and prosperity”.
