Chelsea want to sign Deportivo de La Coruna winger Yeremay Hernandez this month.
The 22-year-old has been outstanding for the Spanish side and has eight goals and three assists in all competitions. He could add a much-needed edge to Chelsea’s attack and is versatile enough to operate on either flank.
According to a report by Onda Cero (h/t Nacho Sanchis), Chelsea have already submitted a firm offer for the player’s signature and have also been in contact with the player. Whether Deportivo will approve his departure remains to be seen. He is their key player and has a long-term contract with the club.
Chelsea have had an impressive season so far and will be looking to secure Champions League qualification for next season. They will be looking to maintain their current form during the second half of the campaign and are in need of quality additions. Adding more depth to the side will only improve their chances of finishing the season well.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old could be attracted by the idea of playing in the Premier League. The step up from the second division of Spanish football to the Premier League is quite significant, and the player will find it difficult to refuse a move to Stamford Bridge if he is presented with a concrete proposal.
It remains to be seen whether the two clubs will be able to negotiate a contract in the coming weeks. The Blues need to improve their squad before the transfer window closes. In addition to signing a quality winger, they should also invest in a central defender.
