The next big update to Apple’s iPhone will include a new model called the iPhone 17 Air, according to By Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
This seems like an obvious way to expand the line, because of the success of Apple with the Air moniker for MacBooks and thin iPads (at the moment I am writing these words on my MacBook Air), and it can be more interesting than the iPhone Plus or mini.
Gurman writes that the iPhone 17 Air will include Apple’s first modem, which will appear in the new iPhone SE later this spring. The phone is also set to be Apple’s thinnest smartphone yet – two millimeters thinner than current iPhones. So it would represent a step forward foldable iPhone and iPad that the company is said to be producing in 2026 or later.
Gurman also teases other Apple products he hopes to launch in 2025, including smart home. Not on the list: The company’s new hybrid headset model, the Vision Pro.
