Borussia Dortmund narrowly lost 3-2 to Bayer Leverkusen in an entertaining encounter at Signal Iduna Park.
Despite a spirited second-half comeback, Dortmund’s defensive lapses in the opening stages proved costly as Leverkusen’s clinical finishing helped them secure all three points in this Bundesliga clash.
The game got off to a tumultuous start as Bayer Leverkusen took the initiative almost immediately. Nathan Tella opened the scoring in the first minute with a stunning right-footed shot into the top left corner after a well-timed header from Roberto Andrich.
Dortmund, caught off guard, struggled to regain their position before Leverkusen doubled their lead just seven minutes later.
Patrik Schick found space in the penalty area and hit a right-footed shot into the top right corner after an assist from Piero Hincapie.
Dortmund retaliated in the 12th minute through Jamie Gittens, who put the hosts back into the contest with a precise left-footed shot from close range.

In the second half, I saw a determined Dortmund team trying to fight back.
Maximilian Beier and Karim Adeyemi tested Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecki, but their efforts were either saved or narrowly wide.
The key moment came in the 75th minute when Julien Duranville fouled Edmond Tapsoba in the penalty area, prompting a VAR review which resulted in a penalty for Dortmund.
Serhou Guirassy stepped up and calmly converted the spot kick to reduce the score to 3-2.
The closing stages were marked by frantic action as Dortmund threw everything forward in search of an equaliser.
Substitute Donyell Malen had a chance blocked in the 93rd minute and Felix Nmech’s late attacks from midfield added even more drama.
Tempers flared in the final moments of the game, with Nmecha booked for a reckless foul on Florian Wirtz in stoppage time.
Despite Dortmund’s relentless pressure, Leverkusen held on, earning a hard-fought victory for Xabi Alonso.
