Robot vacuums are having a big year at CES 2025. We’ve seen robotic vacuum cleaners and . Now, another robot vacuum manufacturer is introducing robotic vacuums that can go around air cleaners, pill dispensers, security cameras, tables and other items on top.
The SwitchBot K20+ Pro is a robotic vacuum cleaner that doubles as a platform for other household appliances. The company describes it as a “multitasking” home assistant that can perform multiple tasks while also cleaning the floor.
The vacuum itself is similar to a robot vac, if bigger. It also has a surface mount that supports a variety of attachments or electronic devices. The company says it can support up to 8 kg — about 18 lbs — and will seamlessly connect to other SwitchBot devices like an air purifier or a home security camera. The SwitchBot Vac can be programmed to follow you or stay in one place.
At the SwitchBot booth, I saw lockers that included a tablet stand, an air purifier with a tablet connected to a security camera. But the company’s promotional materials also show a towel rack with a fan and a laundry basket on top. It also shows that the K20+ Pro can bring drinks and carry small bags around the house.
A SwitchBot representative at the site said the company wants to allow people to 3D print their own K20+ Pro devices so anyone can use their own small vacuum-powered device. The video was sent to the company they even show a vacuum with an arm that can pick up trash and put it in a trash can. (Yes, another robot vacuum .)
If this all sounds silly, that’s because it is. While I can understand the appeal of a robot vacuum that doubles as a phone or tablet, I can’t imagine many situations where I need a floor fan or air purifier to move around my house.
I haven’t seen the SwitchBot’s wipers move around in its place, so I don’t know how this would work. It is also not known how much the K20+ Pro will cost when it goes on sale later this year, although the company is already selling some of its accessories, such as why?
