President-elect Trump will meet with Senate Republicans on Wednesday as he prepares to return to office at the end of the month and put his agenda into motion.
Trump’s transition team confirmed the meeting with the Senate GOP, which now controls the upper chamber, to Fox News Digital.
Senate Republican Policy Committee Chairwoman Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, RW.Va., said the president-elect is welcome for the meeting.

Trump will be in Washington, DC, this week for the funeral of former president Jimmy Carterwho died this month aged 100 after being in hospital.
The meeting, which will include Senate Republican leadership and others, will be held in the Capitol’s Mansfield Room at 6 p.m. The room is used for weekly Senate caucus luncheons and other large meetings.

The group will address plans for aa budget reconciliation bill, or two, in the coming months. Trump has said he wants “a powerful bill,” as opposed to the proposal initially floated by Senate Majority Leader John Thune, RSD, for two separate reconciliation bills, one for the border and one other to deal with taxes.
The reason this process is so integral to the work of Republicans in this Congress is that it allows them to avoid legislative filibuster in the Senate, lowering the 60-vote threshold. That way, the GOP can push legislation with only the support of its conference.

Still, Trump hasn’t ruled out anything, including the two-bill strategy, he told radio host Hugh Hewitt.

It’s unclear exactly which GOP senators will attend the meeting with Trump Wednesday night, but Sen. Thom Tillis, RNC, plans to go, according to his office.
Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., will also attend the discussion, telling Fox News Digital in a statement that he was “looking forward to meeting with President Trump tomorrow. It’s important that we work together to pass a conservative, Agenda pro-American”.
