Sony-Honda’s Afeela EV will start at $89,900

Sony has been talking a lot about the Afeela model it launched with Honda since then they released the EV in 2023. But one important fact was kept hidden in the details – until today.

Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida announced Monday at CES 2025 that the four-door Afeela EV will have a starting price of $89,900. The Sony-Honda brand will also offer a higher – and more expensive – model that starts at $102,900.

Both types of Afeela will include a valid three-year subscription to other activities. The company also announced that it has opened the Afeela EV storage. California customers can file a $200 rebate.

The Afela is an all-electric four-door sedan designed to combine the reliability and design expertise of Honda with the infotainment and software capabilities of sports technology company Sony. In a basic knowledge shown at TechCrunch in 2023, the car featured a cinema-like display, luxury seats and yoke-like steering wheels. There were other odd details – or lack thereof – such as the lack of doors.

The production model can be reduced and realistic. For example, different types of door handles. But the interaction between software and hardware, such as sensors and displays, will play a major role. More information about Afeela is expected to be released on Tuesday at the CES press conference.
