The newest Elvie is a smart baby bouncer that turns into a bassinet

Elvie, a company known for its popularity breast pump wearableis showing off new baby gear at CES. It’s called Rise, and it’s a baby control system that can transform into a bassinet with a baby inside.

The $799 device is designed for babies in the first few months of their lives. Elvie says the bouncer works for babies up to 20 lbs or 6 months, while the bassinet is made for babies up to 5 months or 22 lbs.

When in “bouncer mode,” parents can change the type of bounce from the Elvie Rise Sleep & Soothe app. The company says its “SootheLoop” technology is designed to create a slow motion that is more like a caregiver’s movement than robotic repetition. There is also a way to get babies to jump when they are a little stronger.

In her press release, Elvie says her research found that two-thirds of babies between 0 and 3 months often sleep in “unsafe” items such as bouncers or swings. The Rise should address this as parents can switch from bouncer to bassinet mode without – hopefully – waking their baby.

The Rise has a “switch handle” that allows parents to switch the device between modes. The straps from the bouncer go back to the right position for sleeping.

The company says its bassinet meets the safety guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), although babies should not be left in a bouncer unattended. The unit is also designed to be more portable than a standard bassinet. It collapses for easy portability and has a magnetic charger so it can be used even before it’s plugged in.

Elvie Rise is available now order it in advance. The company expects to begin shipping orders on March 14, 2025.
