Everything is being smart. An example of this is Lymow Onewhich the Lymow company claims is the world’s first intelligent lawn mower with precision mulching and threading.
Remember that movie The Lawnmower Man? Well, the intelligent AIs in the lawnmower will remind you, if you can remember back then. Sure, they’re not the only smart weeders. But it’s interesting to see it with a traceable thread, as if it were a tank.
Lymow said the Lymow One features an improved front surface, LySee’s advanced navigation, and unmatched distance flexibility. The company is showing off the mower Cost of CES 2025.
The Lymow One delivers five times more cleaning per day than its competitors, setting a new benchmark in robotic vacuum cleaners, the company said. With integrated RTK-VSLAM integrated and intelligent object detection, it ensures precise and easy targeting.
“Most robotic lawnmowers today are built for small yards, but many homes in the United States have large, difficult lawns. As a result, these mowers are often used as a supplement to, rather than a replacement for, traditional mowers,” said Wangshu Gao, Lymow’s CEO, who spent eight years managing SharkNinja’s R&D department, in a statement. Lymow One, we are taking a different approach. Our products are designed to replace traditional lawn mowers, providing superior lawn care – better results, less time, less cost, and less effort.”
Lymow excels at mowing with the LyCut Dual Blade Mowing Deck, designed to handle all types of grass with ease. In the center there is a change from the previous metal blades to two high-speed rotating blades, combined with a powerful centrifugal fan integrated into the train for efficient removal.
This advanced system effectively cuts small particles without bending over, feeding the grass and keeping it healthy. Its superior design tackles tough grass, dense patches, wet or dry, and debris such as berries, pinecones, and small branches.
It has:
● Powerful Pages: Unlike other robotic lawnmowers that use metal blades attached to a rotating plate, the Lymow One features professional-grade sticky blades found on ride-on and lawnmowers. With the help of an intelligent brushless motor with a power of 1200 Watts, it drives the mulching blades to rotate at 6000 RPM, cutting effortlessly in all types of grass. The front chamber of the Lymow One has a comfortable width of 16 inches, ensuring a smooth mowing.
● High Speed Fan Exhaust: It ensures that the clippings are cut properly and distributed evenly, feeding the grass without blocking. As seen here, users can choose from the side or rear release with the ClipFlex accessory.
● A Mobile, Space-Switching Floating Ship: The front of the Lymow One offers adjustable height from 1.2 to 4 inches, giving users more flexibility in mowing. The mower follows the ground with its omniwheels, guaranteeing a cut even on uneven surfaces.
Lymow One’s LySee Multi-Fusion Navigation System combines Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) satellite positioning and Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (VSLAM) technologies for autonomous lawn care.
The cutting-edge technology eliminates the need for boundary wires, allowing for multi-level mapping and no-go areas. Its stereo camera also enables the Lymow One to detect surroundings and avoid obstacles for continuous mowing.
By replacing traditional wires with RTK-VSLAM navigation, which provides centimeter accuracy, Lymow One offers the opportunity to easily set up and control the map through the app. However, like satellite systems, RTK signals can be affected by trees, roofs, walls, and even bad weather. To combat this, Lymow One combines RTK with VSLAM technology, ensuring smooth navigation even during temporary loss of RTK.
The Lymow One stereo camera combines image-based recognition with depth perception to better understand your surroundings. Advanced algorithms allow it to detect and react to things like hedgehogs, sprinklers, and pet waste, avoiding them easily. Users can adjust how they handle things like berries or pinecones through the Lymow app—either skip them or cut them using the LyCut Mowing Deck. Technology is very flexible.
Safety is built into every aspect of the Lymow One. Its advanced sensor group includes five artificial sensors, two front bumpers, and static sensors on the blade surface, creating several layers of protection. The blades can stop within one second from full speed, providing reliable, responsive protection in any mowing situation.
And Lymow One’s route planning system ensures well-connected stripes, rather than erratic routes. Users can adjust the overlap between the parallel stripes according to their preferences and position the lines to create checkerboards or diamond grids.
The Lymow One track system offers unmatched speed, stability, and durability. It covers five times more area than other mowers, at 0.23 acres/hour, 0.57 acres/charge, and 1.73 acres/day.
Seen in action, its superior traction allows it to pass through difficult, uneven terrain, clear obstacles up to 2 inches, and tackle slopes of 45° (100%) with ease—even climbing stairs and performing reliably in water. the weather is slippery. This rugged performance ensures consistent performance in any environment.
Lymow One is built for performance and durability. Featuring FEM analysis for crash testing, it has a die-cast aluminum frame, similar to that found in sports cars. A LiFePO4 battery provides twice the performance of lithium-ion batteries. With an upgraded IPX6 waterproof rating, the Lymow One is designed to withstand all weather conditions, ensuring reliability for years to come.
After a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised more than $3.5 million, the newly developed Lymow One is now in production and is expected to be delivered in April 2025, at a price of $3,000.
