Be it portable Walkmans and vintage Trinitron TVs or PlayStations, Alpha cameras and the best headphones of the twenty-first century, Sony has been a staple at CES. But for the past few years at the world’s biggest electronics show, Sony has chosen to focus on another sector: Automotive. The Afeela electric car dominated the press conferences of Sony 2023 and 2024 CES, and we know that this will continue in 2025, appearing at the Sony event (and the next press conference) it has already been confirmed.
Feela is the first product from Sony Honda Mobility, a collaboration between the Japanese electronics and transportation giants. After a surprise release at CES 2023Sony’s CES press team listed additional details on the EV’s LiDAR-heavy sensor array and AI-enhanced cabin tech (the latter coming with support from Microsoft) on CES 2024. If the car that was previously announced to be on the way – to be ordered in 2025 before 2026 – remains, we hope to hear what good things Afela cars will pass when it hits the roads of the real world.
Of course, it’s not all Afela all the time in Vegas. Expect Sony to spend some time talking about its graphics, games or its studio. And with any luck, we’ll get more information about the company XR imageswhich was shown at the 2024 show, but never seen again. CES 2025 would be the best place to show off the latest version of the possible competition to the Apple Vision Pro.
You can watch the Sony CES press conference in action below. The feed will begin on Monday, January 6th at 8:00PM ET.
A special Afeela press conference will be held on Tuesday, January 7th at 4:30PM PT, and will be shown on YouTube also.
