Samsung which has just been announced pending US availability for a new smartphone and fitness tracker. The Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy Fit3 are both low-end devices that are close to budget. The devices will be available for purchase in the US on January 9, after being available in other parts of the world a few months back.
The Galaxy A16 5G is a step up from its predecessor in almost every way. This is a very good thing, as the Galaxy A15 5G easily earned a place on our list best android phones. The A16 features a slimmer design and smaller bezels, all in addition to a slightly larger screen.
This 6.7” FHD Super AMOLED display has 800 nits brightness and 90Hz refresh rate. It comes with an Exynos 1330 processor, a 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging and up to 8GB of RAM. Customers can also opt for up to 256GB of internal storage, though it supports microSD cards.
As with most modern smartphones, the cameras are the real stars of the show here. There is a 50MP rear camera, 5MP Ultra-wide, 2MP macro lens and a 13MP front camera. It’s a great value proposition, starting at just $200. A16 5G available in black and light gray.
Galaxy Fit3 is a no-nonsense fitness plan that is described as “the best option for anyone who wants to start their fitness journey.” It has useful capabilities, such as fall detection and sleep tracking. It also monitors blood oxygen levels, which is something most people don’t do at this price.
Battery life is good, at 13 days, and the IP68 rating means it should withstand being submerged in water, as long as it is not taken too seriously. The tracker pairs with the Samsung Health app, which allows access to 100 different exercises. Fit3 it costs $60 and comes in several colorsincluding grey, silver and gold. These modes apply to the entire team and the tracker itself.
