Apple Fitness+ gets Strava integration with new workouts


Apple is launching 2025 with new updates to Apple Fitness +. This time, the company is not only adding new features to the service yoga, strength training, and meditation programs, but also offering a new integration with another popular fitness app: Strava.

If there’s any problem with Fitness+’s offerings so far, it’s that it mainly caters to beginners. Yoga Peak Poses can be one way to make a difference. Apple is adding yoga-inspired conversations that focus on real-life, yoga challenges like Dancer or Crow. “For each image, there is a 10-minute preparation session for warm users,” says Apple, followed by a “10-minute test session.” You can use these lessons to improve your skills and hopefully produce a challenging picture.

If exercise makes you run faster, Fitness+ is also getting a new three-week strength training program that Apple calls “Three Weeks of Strength.” The program is spread over 30-minute workouts, with the first week focusing on “Progressive Overload,” the second on “Time Under Tension,” and the third on “Dynamic Power.” Apple says it designed the program to be repeatable so you can run with different weights as you get older. Don’t expect to be as deep as Peloton’s new strength training programbut it’s good to have more options.

One of the most exciting additions to this update is how Fitness+ will integrate with Strava. When you share a workout+ to Strava, the app will show things like the workout you did or the trainer who led it, on top of your health metrics. Apple is offering Strava subscribers up to three months of Fitness+ at no extra cost for a little advertising, too.

Alongside these additions is a bag of other new features, such as the Intro to Breath Meditation class, an exercise game designed around pickleball lessons, and Apple’s new celebrity-led slate. Travel Time audio articles, and workout playlists focus on Janet Jackson (on January 13), Coldplay (on January 20), Bruno Mars (on January 27) and Kendrick Lamar (on February 3).
