They assessed that he had a remote detonator . in his vehicle to start those two ice creams.”

Biden said federal agents are investigating possible links to the Las Vegas blast, also being investigated as a terrorist attack, and urged them to “speed up” their efforts. Fourteen people were killed and Jabbar was killed in a shootout with police.
“As of right now, they’ve just been briefed,” Biden said. “So far they have found no evidence of such a connection. I have instructed them to keep looking.”
The FBI identified Jabber like the driver who crashed a rental truck into a crowd of New Year’s Eve revelers on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. The office told congressional lawmakers on Thursday that it had no information about Jabbar before his attack. They also said that while Jabbar has said he was “inspired” by ISIS, investigators have found no evidence that he was directed by ISIS.

New Orleans Hospitals treated a total of 37 victims who were injured in Wednesday’s attack. LCMC Health has not said how many of the injured have since been released, nor has it clarified the condition of those still hospitalized.
Authorities had been investigating a possible military connection between Jabbar and the Las Vegas suspect, who law enforcement identified to The Associated Press as Matthew Livelsberger.
“As you know, there are too an FBI research in Las Vegas. We are following all potential leads and are not ruling anything out,” FBI Assistant Deputy Director of the Counterterrorism Division Christopher Raia told reporters Thursday. “However, at this time, there is no definitive link between the attack here in New Orleans and the one in Las Vegas.”

Jabbar, a native American born in Texas, had previously served in the US Army. Authorities are still investigating how and when he became radicalized.
