Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has dropped a worrying update on his future just ahead of this weekend’s big game against Manchester United.

The Reds host their bitter rivals at Anfield on Sunday afternoon as they look to continue their strong start to the season which has seen them as somewhat surprising title favourites.

Salah will undoubtedly be a key player in this game again, but his future is his off-field contract negotiations also dominated the headlines for the last few months.

So while many fans will focus on finding last minute tickets for Liverpool vs Man Unitedtheir heads are bound to spin with another update to the long-running Salah saga.

Mohamed Salah suggests this will be his last season at Liverpool

When asked again in the interview if he thought this could be his last season at LFC, Salah once again hinted that it would be, with contract talks perhaps not progressing well.

“For now, yes, for the last six months. There is no progress there, we are far from any progress. So we just have to wait and see,” said the Egyptian representative to Sky Sports.

“The thing in my mind is, if it’s your last six months or a year, what do you want to see in the future?

“Do you want to look back and say I was worried about the contract or stressed? I just want to say that I had an amazing season.

“That’s in my head now. If I feel distracted, I remind myself that I want to look back and say I had an amazing season. That’s what I want to do.”

Can Salah hurt United again?

Salah scored against United when these two sides met at Old Trafford earlier this season, and he will surely do well against Ruben Amorim’s side who are struggling so hard for confidence at the moment.

Amorim recently led United to a big win away at rivals Manchester City, but overall his side look a long way from beating this in-form Liverpool side.

It’s hard to imagine this MUFC defense keeping Salah quiet for long, and it seems clear that these contract issues aren’t affecting the player on the pitch.

The 32-year-old just keeps delivering results and if he keeps playing like this he will surely end his career on Merseyside with a second Premier League title, which wouldn’t be a bad way to retire.
