Andrew Garfield Gets His Spider-Man 4 Early Rejection

Although Andrew Garfield was in Spider-Man: No Homecoming, he was forced to refuse. This is why they know that they are not in the next series, in 2026, they do not have much weight.

“I hurt you,” Garfield he told GQ when asked if they would sign Tom Holland for a fourth Spider-Man. “Yes, no.” But I know that no one will believe anything I say from now on.” This odd word brings us back to 2021, one of the many times Garfield was asked about appearing in There is no Native Method. “Listen, I can’t talk about anyone but myself,” said the actor at the time. “He might be doing something, but I don’t have a phone.” Of course, we now know that Garfield didn’t just make the call, he actually played a major role in the movie. It happened in secret, he was forced to lie to protect the secret.

But this time, we think his words have more power. Very little is officially known about the sequel outside of its release date (July 24, 2026), its director (Destin Daniel Cretton), and its stars (Tom Holland and Zendaya, to boot). Producer Amy Pascal also confirmed that it will continue the story from the end of the last film when Peter Parker (Holland) forgot the whole world to save it. So, we think, we will take Peter Parker, still Spider-Man, in a world where no one knows who Peter Parker is, or that he is Spider-Man. Which is very empty.

Would the story be based in or around New York City? Where. Could it be another big adventure? Absolutely. And if it’s the last one, does that mean that Peter Parker will be reunited with his various friends, Peter Two (Tobey Maguire) and Peter Three (Garfield)? Sure. But we just have a feeling, when that happens—not if, but when—it will be a little later down the line. Like maybe inside Avengers: Secret Warswhich comes out the following summer.

And whether it will happen or not, Garfield can’t say.
