Goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi saved them with two great early saves from Lautaro Martinez, one of which would have resulted in a Federico Dimarco rebound goal had Carnesecchi not made another save.
Inter’s first goal came after a corner was questionably ruled out, and there was less doubt about the second when Dumfries produced a fierce strike at the culmination of a counter-attack.

Carnesecchi again thwarted Martinez in a one-on-one at 2-0, although Atalanta came tantalizingly close to replying with a minute remaining when Yann Sommer saved Berat Djimsiti and Ademolo Lookman in quick succession.
Both players looked poised to score after the second rebound, but conspired to send the ball over the bar to almost end Atalanta’s faint hopes of a stoppage time comeback.

Super Cup Final
Eight-time champions Inter have won the last three editions of the Supercoppa and will enter the final with five consecutive clean sheets.
They are yet to beat any of their potential finals opponents this season, losing 2-1 to Milan in September and drawing 4-4 with Juve in October.
