CNBC’s new streaming service can cost up to $600 a year

CNBC is starting to play the game with a project called CNBC+. The platform will have global live and financial news happening in the US, UK and Asian markets. Subscribers can also watch full videos on demand. The service is available through the iOS and Android apps or on cnbc.com.

According to CNBC announced the news and pricing for CNBC+ on January 1 in an email to subscribers of the network’s digital offering. It seems absurd to announce a new location for business and financial professionals on a day when many companies are closed. CNBC is one of Comcast’s flagship products being a new company, which makes this a difficult time for networks to start a new expensive project.

And keywords are expensive. Not only is it expensive to run a digital platform like this, but CNBC+ is also not cheap for viewers. A regular subscription costs $15 per month, while the Pro tier keeps bundles of additional stocks and options and a My Portfolio feature for $35 per month or $300 per year. For truly dedicated fans, there is also an All Access plan that includes participation in an online investment club led by CNBC personality Jim Cramer. The plan costs $600 a year.

This isn’t the first time cable news has tried to stand up. Warner Bros. Discovery launched the CNN+ service in March 2022, but at the same time a few weeks later. We’ll see if CNBC+ can last long.
