It’s been a December to remember. This month, we got a gaming platform from Origin PC and repetition of in the hands of MSI Claw which redeems much of what we didn’t like about the previous generation. We also completed our long-term review of Google Pixel Watch 3which was such a hit that I bought the 45mm version. We too he looked at the clock which can help roll the dice.
There were bummers, too. They didn’t make this collection, but they still had it to shout about. Samsung is Galaxy Chromebook Plus it’s light as a feather, but its beautiful AMOLED display fails at a 60Hz refresh rate, and on a laptop that shows you play games on it. Acer has also shown that it can produce high-quality OLED displays for its laptops, even the Swift 16 AI like the whole package is big no. Also, a A PSA for smart ring wearersespecially those who received a Samsung Galaxy ring for Christmas and are wondering about its durability.
Next month is The cost of CES 2025. We’re already posting news about what companies hope to follow and what’s new. As artificial intelligence permeates everything, it will include many things like the retail space. It’ll also be a good time to call if you’re trying to upgrade your home entertainment system, as all the new TVs and smart home technologies are being phased out. And don’t forget the amazing things, like laptops that pop in and out to give you a more visible place. Expect next month’s weather to be tougher as we head into winter.
In our long overdue review, I gave the Pixel Watch 3 all the credit it deserves. This is a must buy if you are in doubt whether to get a Pixel Watch or not. It comes in two screen sizes, large (41mm) and large (45mm), and offers better battery life and health monitoring than the first two generations. It’s not a very good watch. For example, unlike the original Apple Watch, Google’s band connection makes it difficult to find the right curves to switch in and out. But this is the best smartwatch in the Android ecosystem, even if you don’t use Fitbit.
This was not all the reviews though a big hit among this month’s Gizmodo recommendations. Kyle took the Timestop D-20 to PAX Unplugged, quickly becoming his “gamer of 2024.” The clock tells the time and pretends to roll the dice. It looks great, it wears great, and it’s designed for RPG and board game players. The watch may not be acceptable as dice in a modern RPG, but you don’t have to pay for it every night as a smartwatch.
The Origin PC Neuron 3500X is a solid gaming machine with great features. Its silent fans help with airflow, and the RGB lighting makes the case look like a fish tank from the 90s. But even with its cheap price, it can be very tough. The case tends to bend, and the panels fly off like pieces of an unattended Boeing fuselage. Everything else about this PC is solid.
AI is everywhere, even in the name of the second game console. MSI’s Claw 8 AI+ is an updated version of the The last clawwho was good, even if it could very well. This new handset promises better performance in demanding and casual games on a larger screen than its competitors, Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally. Although its battery life is good, the app could use some polishing. Overall, where MSI is going with its gaming hardware is much more encouraging than it was last time.
We didn’t expect Bowers & Wilkins to make a list of worthy devices this month, but the Pi8 wireless headphones we reviewed are the ones Sherri has heard all year. They’re small, easy to tune, and offer great music streaming and podcasts. It’s easier to use than most blades on the market and fits a surprisingly wide range of ears.
