Before you settle on an Instant Pot or multicooker, there are some things to consider in terms of size, price, functionality and cooking programs.
Think about features and apps
Brands and food options will make a difference when it comes to choosing the best Instant Pot for your cooking needs. If you want to make your own yogurt, or if you like hard-boiled eggs, it’s worth paying a little more for an Instant Pot model that can do those things.
Getting the right Instant Pot size
When it comes to choosing the right size, Instant Pot recommends the 3-quart model for one or two people. Families of six children or less will be happy with the 6-quart multicooker. If you have a large family or often host large parties, consider pulling out the 8-quart model.
A price is a price
You can find multicookers and Instant Pots for hundreds of dollars, but even the budget-friendly models do most of what you can ask of an Instant Pot and do it well. More expensive models may include more cooking programs, easy-to-use valves or a more attractive exterior, but the quality of cooking, slow cooking or steaming will not change even if you jump on the price.

Other types of multicookers that you should consider
