Boise State cruised through the Mountain West Conference with a perfect 7-0 record and went 12-1 on the season after the success of running back Ashton Jeanty. The Heisman Trophy winner has rushed for 2,497 yards this season, the fourth most in college football history. Boise State’s only setback was a 37-24 loss on the road to No. 1 Oregon back in September. The Broncos were the top seed in Group 5 and earned the No. 3 seed in the College football game.
Next up for Boise State is a day in the desert with No. 6 Penn State. The Nittany Lions finished second in the Big Ten behind Oregon with an 8-1 record and are 12-2 overall. He is coming off a successful debut in which he eliminated No. 11 SMU 38-10. Despite being a low seed, Penn State is an 11-seed against Boise State.
Boise State and Penn State begin the CFP quarterfinals in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET (4:30 PT) on ESPN.
