Biden’s Defense Department Announces New Multibillion Dollar Aid Packages for Ukraine


The Department of Defense (DoD) announced two arms packages for Ukraine Monday, for a total of $2.47 billion.

The first of the two, the Presidential Drawdown Authority package, with an “estimated value” of $1.25 billion, is intended to “provide Ukraine with additional capabilities to meet its most pressing needs, including: air defense missiles; munitions for rocket and artillery systems; and anti-tank weapons,” the DoD said in a press release.

“Additionally, DoD announced an approximately $1.22 billion Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) package to provide Ukraine with additional air defense, unmanned aerial systems, and other capabilities to combat the “Russian aggression”.

Help packages come as a monitoring of the national debt it stands at more than $36 trillion as of December 26.

The DoD described the capabilities of the packages, including missile systems, missiles, ammunition, ammunition, anti-armor systems, medical equipment and more.
