This morning, AC Milan confirmed the dismissal of head coach Paulo Fonseca after six months in the role.
The Portuguese claimed he was sacked for leaving the San Siro after Sunday night’s 1-1 draw with Roma, with the club’s official announcement coming hours later.
Milan are expected to name Sergio Conceicao as his replacement.

The club’s statement reads: “AC Milan announces that Paulo Fonseca has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the first men’s team.” The club expresses its gratitude to Paul for his great professionalism and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.”
The weekend hiatus leaves the Rossoneri eighth in the Serie A table, 14 points behind joint leaders Atalanta and Napoli.
Fonseca coached Milan for a total of 24 games, winning just 12, the highlight being a 3-1 win against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Conceicao has extensive experience in Serie A having played for Lazio, Parma and Inter. In June, he left the position of coach of Porto.
