In a statement released Sunday, the late president’s son, Chip Carter, called his father a “hero.”
“My father was a hero, not only to me, but to all who believe in peace, human rights and selfless love,” the statement said. “My brothers, my sister and I shared it with the rest of the world through these common beliefs.”
