Andre Onana appears to have made one too many mistakes as a Man United goalkeeper, and the club are now looking for viable alternatives.
It was terrible Premier League season for Manchester Unitedwith Reuben Amorim he is also struggling to achieve any immediate success at the club.
A number of players brought into the Old Trafford squad by former manager Erik ten Hag have been shown to fall short of the required standards, including the £47.2m custodian (Sky Sports) from Inter.
Still Andrew Onan Seemingly well-regarded at the Neroazzurra, the goalkeeper’s reputation was damaged during his time at the Theater of Dreams.
He recently allowed the corner kick to go straight into the netjust days after another United goalkeeper, Altay Bayindir, did the same.
There have also been links that suggest this Onana is the target of the Saudi first league teams now, and that may or may not be the route the 28-year-old chooses to take.
However, one thing is clear, and that is that Man United appear to be looking for a replacement.
According to The Times (subscription required), the club is looking for Royal Antwerp U-21 Belgian international custodian Senne Lammens.
Lammens has earned rave reviews for his performances in the Jupiler Pro League, with only Union SG and Anderlecht conceding fewer goals (18) than Antwerp on 21 this season.
With Bayindir possibly looking to move on at the end of the current season due to a lack of opportunities, this would open up the possibility of Lammens coming to Old Trafford in his stead.
That would really increase the pressure on Onana to deliver, and, if the necessary consistency isn’t there, Lammens could quickly establish himself as United’s new No.1.
