The Reds gained more places at the top of the Premier League

Liverpool showed their resilience under Arne Slot as they cruised to a 3-1 win over Leicester in a foggy Premier League clash at Anfield.

Despite conceding an early goal, the Reds dominated proceedings and eventually secured a comfortable win thanks to goals from Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah.

The game started dramatically, with Leicester unexpectedly taking the lead in just six minutes.

Stephy Mavididi made his way down the left flank and shot low into the box. Jordan Ayew held off Andrew Robertson before firing into the bottom corner, leaving Alisson with no chance.

Liverpool responded with pressure, dictating play, and their full-backs, Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold, were heavily involved, throwing dangerous crosses into the box.

Robertson came close to equalizing in the 24th minute when Alexander-Arnold’s header hit the post. Moments later, Salah’s curler also clipped the woodwork, further frustrating the hosts.

However, Liverpool’s persistence paid off at halftime. Alexis Mac Allister, who had a great game in midfield, provided a simple forward pass to Cody Gakpo.

The Dutch striker sent an excellent shot from the edge of the penalty area into the upper corner and leveled the score at 1-1.

The second half continued with Liverpool picking up where they had left off. Just four minutes into the restart, Curtis Jones gave the Reds the lead.

Salah and Mac Allister combined on the right wing, and the latter sent a low cross into the frame of the goal. Jones was in the perfect position to take the first touch to slot the ball past Leicester goalkeeper Stolarczyk.

Leicester struggled to regain their composure and their lack of attacking threat was evident.

The Foxes failed to register a single shot in the second half, keeping Liverpool in control.

The hosts continued to press for the third goal, and Salah forced a smart save from Stolarczyk in the 79th minute.

Liverpool eventually sealed the victory in the 82nd minute, with Salah once again at the center of the action.

Gakpo’s high pass found the Egyptian on the right wing. Salah danced his way to the penalty area, feinted defenders before curling a trademark shot into the far corner.

The win cements Liverpool’s position at the top of the table, especially with Chelsea dropping points earlier.
