Bollywood actress and Indian staunch person Virat KohliWife Anushka Sharma was recently seen posing with the family of rising Indian sensation Nitish Kumar Reddy at the MCG after the second day of the Boxing Day Test. A picture that has gone viral on social media, in which Anushka Sharma is posing Nitish Kumar Reddyparents and sister.
Anushka is currently in Melbourne to support her husband Virat Kohli. She was seen several times in the stands cheering for him during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series. Kohli, one of India’s most celebrated cricketers, is currently in the midst of a high-stakes Test series. However, Anushka’s presence was a source of support for the Indian star.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy’s family is also in Melbourne to support their son. Nitish made his Test debut for Indian team during the first test of the series. Since then, he has continued to impress with both bat and ball. In the three Tests he played, he scored 179 runs at an average of 44.75 and looked one of the strongest Indian batsmen on the tour. On top of that, he also took 3 wickets.
The Boxing Day Test, at the legendary MCG, he saw Australia take control after the 2nd day. Australia posted an astonishing total of 474, with Steve Smithis a brilliant 140 and Usman Khawaja‘s 57 lead the attack. Despite India’s best efforts, the visitors found themselves 310 runs behind at stumps with India at 164 for 5.
India’s response saw early wickets fall, s Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul fighting. However, the young Yashasvi Jaiswalwith an excellent 82 and Kohli, with 36, replied briefly. Their efforts were thwarted though as Australia’s late surge, led by Scott Boland, proved too much. Jaiswal’s unfortunate run-out and Kohli’s dismissal in quick succession left India facing a tough climb.
The Indian pair of Jaiswal and Kohli started building a promising partnership after India lost early wickets. Jaiswal’s attacking approach, especially against the short ball, provided little respite for India. His six off Mitchell Marsh he was on a high before running out in a dramatic moment when Pat Cummins’ sharp throw caught him short of the crease.
Kohli, determined to silence critics and regain his form, looked solid during his stay. His sharp sneak attacks and powerful shots from Starc added hope, but he fell to Boland’s impeccable line and length, leaving India in a precarious position.
