Coming into Kyle Busch’s 2024 appearance, the 39-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native had a rough season as he failed to win a Cup in the 36-race schedule. As a result, he lost his 19-year winning streak of at least one race in every season.

Kyle Busch reflects on his 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season

The driver of the #8 RCR Chevrolet ZL1 came close to winning on two occasions. The first was at Daytona International Speedway, where he finished 0.047 seconds behind Harrison Burton, and the second time he lost to Chase Briscoe by 0.361 seconds at Darlington Raceway.

Kyle Busch began his new journey with RCR in style with three wins in the first half of the 2023 season, and has not managed a win since. He posted five top fives, 10 top 10s and led just 230 laps this season.

Describing his turnaround in 2024, Busch said (via NASCAR.com):

“It’s not at all what we hoped it would be after having some success last year, especially at the beginning of the year after those three wins, and then we struggle a little bit at times. But this year, we can’t seem to get the monkey off our back. Even having a chance to win late in the day; to be close at Daytona, and maybe even closer at Kansas, and not be able to pull away.”

“We probably had a handful of chances that slipped away. So I can’t say we never had a chance, but obviously we didn’t.

The 2024 season may not have gone in Busch’s favor, but he will look to bounce back next season, aiming to end his winless streak.
