If you’re going on vacation today, I hope you’re not flying on American Airlines, because it could be a rough day. This morning, the airline said on X that all its flights were grounded, but since then the Federal Aviation Administration raised the suspensionwhich was originally issued at the airline’s request. Even though things are back to normal, there’s a good chance these disruptions will have an impact that makes a busy travel day difficult.
Like Seaside realized, A notice issued by the Federal Aviation Administration confirms that there are “international stops” for all AA flights; it also states that this suspension is at the “company’s request.”
We are currently experiencing a technical issue on all American Airlines flights. Your safety is our top priority, once this is fixed, we will get you safely to your destination.

Other than the FAA notification and the American Airlines post on X, there was no real reason given for the delay. But since the foundation was removed, CNN they say An American Airlines spokeswoman said the cancellation was due to a “supplier technical issue” that had now been “resolved and flights are back up and running.”
Update, 9:15AM ET: This article has been updated to note that the suspension has been resolved.
