My old fan was noisy and stupid, but the new one on its high-end fans gives me a proper whirlwind. (It’s rated at 80 or 110 cubic feet per minute, or CFM.) It’s powered by Home Depot’s in-house platform, Hubspace, which I’ve never had a problem with (I couldn’t add. Defiant smart Lock I was testing the Hubspace app). Fortunately, this fan connected to my phone via Bluetooth and my Wi-Fi network. Best of all, it also works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
I haven’t put this fan in a shower room, but I did test the humidity sensor by using my clothes dryer to remove wrinkles from a shirt. It works and it just starts! But the thing that I like the most, even if it’s a limited one, is the motion sensor. Having a room that lights up without pressing a single button still feels like magic, and now I want to install lights around my house.
Motion detection has some challenges. First, you cannot change the effect of this sensor. In my bathroom, I have a mirror that looks outside, so every time someone walks by in the past bathroom, the light is on. It’s not a big deal (my wife says otherwise), but something to keep in mind. The good news is that you can set the time you want the light to be on through the app, and I set it to one minute.
