Former President Clinton was released Tuesday morning after being hospitalized a day earlier with the flu, according to his spokesman.

Clinton was admitted in Washington hospital Monday with fever.

“President Clinton was admitted to MedStar University Hospital in Georgetown this afternoon for tests and observation after developing a fever,” Ureña wrote on social media. “He remains in good spirits and is deeply appreciative of the excellent care he is receiving.”

The former Democratic president was active during the 2024 presidential campaign, supporting Vice President Harris in her bid against President-elect Trump. Months before, he spoke at the Democratic National Convention that took place in Chicago.

The former president spent five days in the hospital in 2021 with sepsis caused by an infection.
