If you’ve found that your TV is too slow to show its intended programs, here are some great deals that can help fix things at a low cost: The Roku Streaming Stick 4K it’s also on sale for $29. That’s been available long before the holidays, and it’s not exactly cheap — the dongle previously dropped to $25 by the end of 2023 — but it’s on par with the biggest discounts we’ve tracked this year. In fact, Roku usually sells the device for $50, although in recent months it is they are often sold for $34 at third-party sellers like Amazon. Either way, you’re saving less than usual.
Discounts are available at several stores, including Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and Roku.com. If you’re hoping to get this device as a Christmas present, it’s going to be a bit more difficult: Most of the listings we can find say they won’t ship until after the holidays, so you’ll have to order and -buy at Walmart, Best Buy or another retailer with a physical location.
This ties the best price we’ve seen all year for Roku’s 4K dongle.
We recommend Streaming Stick 4K in our guide for excellent tools for conversion. It’s not as fast or fluid as a high-end box like Apple TV 4Kbut it’s still fast enough to load programs and menus, and its compact design plugs into your TV’s HDMI port. It supports almost all major HDR formats and streaming services (Twitch aside), plus it works with Apple’s AirPlay 2 protocol, so you can stream content from the iPhone. Although it can’t translate Dolby Atmos music itself, it can pass the sound to compatible sound systems from software that supports the technology.
Like other Roku devices, the Streaming Stick 4K is easy to navigate, with a home screen made up of a basic set of apps. Google TV Streamer (the top pick in our guide) is more focused on creating content that you like and returning you to your most recently watched content, but you can easily see Roku’s features if you don’t mind searching for content. see for yourself.
The UI also makes free content easy to find, and we found that the search function works well, although it’s not as robust as Google’s OS. We also like the Roku mobile app, which lets you control the device and listen privately with headphones. Like any other player, there are ads scattered throughout the UI, although Roku is a little less aggressive than Amazon. Fire TV equipment.
Several other Roku devices are still available at their Black Friday prices, including Roku Express 4K+ (which does not have Dolby Vision HDR) for $24 and Ultra Year (which has a larger box design, full Atmos support and a larger remote) for $79. For many people to look go to Roku Cityhowever, the Streaming Stick 4K should be worth the price.
