It looks like Meta is planning to add displays to its popular line of Ray-Ban smart glasses, . These displays may also appear in the future of the device next year. The possible release window is the second half of 2025.
According to people familiar with Meta’s plans, the screens will be a small feature and can be used to display information or feedback from Meta’s AI assistant. It is highly unlikely that the company plans to make the device into mixed reality at this point.
For this, Meta has which is still a few years away. The same report suggests that the positive response to Orion’s lenses may have aided development and may have ensured a commercial release. It is unclear whether those glasses will remain in the home.
Ray-Ban smart sunglasses have been a surprise hit for Meta, . They look good and they perform very well. The current version includes headphones, cameras, microphones and access to the Meta assistant.
I really like the simplicity of modern design, especially for photography and video. My hope is that the visuals don’t compromise that simplicity and that they don’t come at the expense of, say, camera performance.
Ray-Ban Meta sunglasses, after all, are the perfect tool for snapping quick pet photos. Have you ever tried to silence an animal so you could dig your phone out of your pocket to take a picture? The cut offs do not. Ray-Bans solve this problem.
