It’s not every day that a successful anime actor sits down and interviews his creator in their native language, but Netflix does. One piece star Iñaki Godoy did the same before the show the second season.
In the latest video from Netflix Still watching YouTube ChannelMonkey D. Luffy played by Godoy sat down with him Eiichiro Oda on the set of One section Location of Cape Town in South Africa to discuss which is in the future on the Grand Line in season two, that’s how Luffy became a beloved character.
“I saw the actual filming, especially the props, the big sets, the special effects, the making of the wigs and costumes, the visuals,” Oda said. “I saw a lot of things and I was very moved by everyone’s dedication.”
When Godoy asked Oda in surprise if he thought the play was good, Oda kindly replied, “It was good.” Naturally, Godoy burst out laughing, causing Oda to laugh back. Godoy’s next question, which was asked clearly in Japanese even though he had just started learning the language in January, asked Oda why he made events in the second season so difficult for him to get used to, because the first season of Straw Hat was already a big job. Another question, you remember, that made Oda laugh after Godoy mentioned how “huge and crazy” their journey was before reaching the Grand Line.
“It is difficult. I am very tired,” said Godoy.
“In this environment, the Grand Line is the most dangerous at sea. We have to surprise the audience. That’s why there are giants, and, there is no doubt that there are many rich hunters,” replied Oda, laughing at the events that await the upcoming season. “This should be a season full of new and wonderful things. That’s why it’s so difficult.”
Godoy’s last question asked Oda how he found Luffy and made him a deep and likable person, even though he seemed like a normal person when he was shy at first.
“Luffy is a good boy to me. When you grow up and join a company, you can’t always do what you want. Joining a company usually means losing your freedom. Luffy has the heart of a child, so he does whatever he wants,” Oda said. , for adults who are already working, and for kids who are about to join the team, which makes Luffy even more fun.”
Oda didn’t hold back in giving Godoy a standing ovation thanking him for bringing Luffy to life and inspiring a global audience. Then the two embrace each other lovingly. It’s very tasty.
Along with Godoy, the returning members of the Netflix tour One piece The cast includes Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger.
One pieceThe second season will also see new characters from the anime make the jump to action. Notable among the new faces on tour (and the actors who will bring them to life) are:
Keeping their usual secret, Netflix and Mawa Studios have not revealed the actor who will bring the doctor of the Straw Hat pirates, Tony Tony Chopper, to life. All we’ve seen of this hard-working animal is a shot from behind, confirming – to the dismay of fans – that he won’t be a regular guy but a CGI minifigure. Hopefully the next one One piece sit down (or the teaser trailer) will show Chopper in all his glory.
In io9 review of the first season, we praised the Netflix show for not wanting viewers to pay in the anime to appreciate it, writing, “The show was clean. It was slippery. Everything is connected, and at the end of the season, even Luffy screamed again, I wanted a second season.”
In conjunction with the second season of the action, Netflix also has plans to renew the anime, called One Divisiondeveloped by WIT Studio. In short, now is as good a time as any to enter One piece– be it through a manga, an action show, an ongoing movie, or its upcoming remake.
