Bluesky adds a tab to the notification screen and password protection

Social networking sites Bluesky has released new updates to its app that include a different naming tab in notifications, protections against user name squatting, and new feedback controls.

The company announced that it is adding a new citation tab with the v1.96 release to view the notes separately. Until now, all information was under one tab.

Bluesky also adds security to squat by saving your Bluesky username with (.bsky.social suffix) when you change your username to a custom site. The platform said it only stores the latest Bluesky name, and it never expires.

A recent event has revealed that the company has faced difficulties in seeing people buy brand names and keeping the names of famous people who may not be on the platform. People have also used it to create a separate account while switching to a domain to prevent someone from taking their original Bluesky domain name.

Bluesky is also adding a way to display feedback below the post. Users can choose between line and thread views. They can also select answers using different filters such as hot, old, new, most liked, and random.
