Without ‘Ugly Sonic,’ there would be no Sonic Movie Franchise

The face that started oh-so-many memes is eventually the transformation of Sonic’s character into Sonic the Hedgehog the movies are gone something Paramount Pictures would like to forget on a keystone of franchise history. And it’s all thanks to the fans of Sega’s beloved games who knew about it Bad Sonic it wasn’t their Sonic.

In an interview with and the Hollywood Reporter on the debut of Sonic the Hedgehog 3The voice of the Sonic movie, Ben Schwartz, talked about how Ugly Sonic is something he now embraces: “Maybe sometimes you need a little push to look in the mirror and hear the fans, to see if you want to change. And we did.”

It was almost as if an internet audience made up of Sonic fans and casual moviegoers screamed in horror at the fangs, eyes, and horror of the movie at Sonic’s obnoxious promotion. Fortunately the studio and production team worked quickly to restore the image to its true form. “How many times can you think of a movie that really listens to the fans and the studio takes money and time to change it because they think the movie would be good? I think it’s never happened, if ever,” Schwartz said.

But Ugly Sonic isn’t really dead.

The memes are rolling in and audiences are quick to jump on the dreaded discussion of Ugly Sonic PTSD when it comes to turning beloved characters into real-life situations. One piece fans are sighing that Netflix does not pull Ugly Sonic from the events of Tony Tony Chopper for example in the second season.. And both of them How to Train Your Dragon‘s Toothless is Lilo & Stitch‘s Stitch has retained their original charm in recent dramas thanks to their upcoming sequels. Thanks for the Ugly Sonic warning, because hey: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Ugly Sonic will continue to be featured as a supporting character in Disney’s 2022 hybrid film. Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers and has recently been seen in a Christmas sweater released by Paramount Pictures in a giveaway. At the first meeting, Sonic 3 director Jeff Fowler also gave Ugly Sonic the reason: “It was out of the ashes of Ugly Sonic that these beautiful films, the phoenix, had to rise. It was a necessary sacrifice but yes, thank you Ugly Sonic for the memory.”

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 opens in theaters on Friday.
